Mount Kinabalu (Malay: Gunung Kinabalu) is a prominent mountain on the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia. It is located in the East Malaysian state of Sabah and is protected as Kinabalu National Park, a World Heritage Site. The Balsam Buffet Restaurant was built in the early 1970s. This beautiful rock structure building and restaurant has been visited by many tourists to the Kinabalu Park, as for many years it is the only eatery in the Kinabalu Park Headquarters. Located about 40 feet below the administration office, the restaurant lies at a forest area which has a perfect view of the mountain under a clear sky. Many of the older folks will remember this restaurant with a kopi-tiam setting and had a very cozy fire place surrounded by sofas. Visitors often hanged around at the fire place for comfort at night, when temperature was much colder in the 70s, when there were plenty of trees around. (Courtesy from: http://www.beautifulkk.com)

One of the highlight of my trip..

Kundasang War Memorial

A must-visit in Kundasang is the Kundasang War Memorial. Established in 1962, this was one of the first memorials to commemorate the brave Australian and British Prisoners of War who died in Sandakan and during the infamous death marches to Ranau during World War II. The memorial also remembers the people of North Borneo who risked their lives to help the POWs. (Courtesy from: http://www.sabahtourism.com)

Destination: K. Kinabalu, Sabah Malaysia (Day 01: 17-May-2012)

Sabah is one of the 13 member states of Malaysia, and is its easternmost state. It is located on the northern portion of the island of Borneo. It is the second largest state in the country after Sarawak, which it borders on its southwest. Wikipedia

I reached there quite late in the afternoon, took a cab to my hotel, check in and straight called up a cab to bring me to the town to grab a bite. And also taking the opportunity to run around town to see what do Kota Kinablau have to offer. Enjoy the photos!

First, I encountered this Italian restaurant called “Little Italy Pasta & Pizza Corner”, was too hungry that I forgot to snap the photo of the dishes.

My bro.. Kumar Selverajah (06-Nov-1975 ~ 09-Jun-2013)

Got a very sad news this morning.

A very close friend, a brother have passed away.

He was diagnosed with a growth in the brain in 2011.

The specialist have to take out half of his brain.

He came into my dream two days ago, wearing his favorite red shirt (I think is the Liverpool jersey and the black jean that he bought from Terengganu). He shook my hand and pat me on my shoulder.

As if that I knew that he was telling me goodbye..

He was happy, a smile on his face..

As if he is free..

RIP my bro.. Kumar

See you again in our next life..

Thank you

Nowadays, coming to a 39 is a very tough to swallow. Time seems to be moving very fast, not much of things can be done.

Somehow somewhere, I am glad that someone still surfing and find my blog interesting.

At least, it gives me some motivation to continue blogging.

Travelling and foods are what I think I do best for living.

Therefore, I hope all of you are going to enjoy as much as I do.

Last submission of my blog was on 11-11-11, how ironic can that be.

Thanks to those who put on the comments!
